Biography: Tomalin was captain of Dark Steel, and like many command officers in High Admiral Steele's regime, Tomalin knew that the Eighth Imperial Fleet had abandoned the crumbling Empire. But he defied orders and passed this knowledge onto his trusted second officer Sandoval Grey. Tomalin was killed in the Battle of U1977, after which Grey led the crew to mutiny against the First Officer.
