Biography: Keth was born to a farming family on Saffalore. He spent most of his childhood assisting his father with the family farm and dreaming of becoming a solider. When the rebellion against Palpatine broke out, his parents were suspected of being rebel sympathizers by the local Moff. Realizing their son was in danger as well, they pooled their savings and sent him off to the Imperial Military Academy on Carida. Shortly after his entrance into the Academy, his parents were rounded up and executed along with several other dissenters on Saffalore. Outraged over his parent's unjust murder, Keth went AWOL and joined the Rebellion. He participated in the Alliance ground campaigns on Ruul and on Abridon as a hover tank commander, and eventually worked his way up to command of an Armour Squadron. His squadron was combined with three more to form the 6th Armoured Regiment assigned to the 3rd Army Division when it was transferred to Farpoint. Durmont took part in both Rheilnor campaigns.
