Biography: Toren is not an exceptional commander and is said to be unimaginative. He tends to play things by the book too much, thus landing himself a simple job at a remote outpost.
However, he and Nick Fel are good friends, and Toren doesn't let anyone suspicious through the Stargate without warning Farpoint, no matter where their orders come from.
