TRAP!

Mission Leader: Nick Fel

Briefing:
Rogue Squadron is moving its base of operations from Earth to their new home on Farpoint. The Mon Calamari Cruiser Ashleigh and its starfighters are traveling there, escorting the first shipment of supplies and building material.

Unfortunately, the Empire has learned of our route and an Imperial Interdictor Cruiser has been placed to drag us out of hyperspace prematurely.

When we reverted to realspace, we were confronted with an Imperial taskforce.

Defending:
Cruiser Ashleigh
Wraith Squadron -- 12 X-Wings
Ace Squadron -- 12 A-Wings
Nova Squadron -- 12 B-Wings
Shuttle Renegade
Corellian Transport Twilight

Attacking:
1 Imperial Star Destroyer
1 Interdictor Cruiser
2 Lancer Frigates
TIE Squadrons

Objectives:
Destroy the Interdictor so we can escape.

Outcome: Victory
Team Score: 0
Team Kills: 0

Report:
This mission was initially run twice, due to players arriving after the first run.

In the first run, Anton Moore flew Ashleigh and quickly ripped through the Star Destroyer before taking out the Interdictor, allowing our ships to leave.

Unfortunately, the TIE Bombers managed to take out at least four of our Heavy Freighters, over a quarter of our supplies. Ace Squadron was sadly decimated, but other squadrons managed to avoid heavy losses.

Both Lancer frigates and almost all TIEs were destroyed before we escaped into hyperspace.

Nick Fel led Wraith Squadron, and Mike Burn flew Twilight. He didn't get a scratch on Dr Craig's ship--the TIEs couldn't touch him.

In the second run, Mike learned why Shuttles aren't recommended for combat, while the rest of us killed the enemy.

Jol Allson flew Ashleigh and took heavy damage from the bombers and the Star Destroyer. Nick Fel commanded Ace Squadron and managed to take out most of the Bombers, but the cruiser was on its last legs at the end of the battle.

However, the opposition was eventually destroyed. While the Interdictor was taken out before we suffered any losses, one Freighter was destroyed by one of the few remaining TIEs before we jumped to hyperspace.
