Operation Moonwalk

Mission Leader: Anton "Viper" Moore

Mission Classification: Charlie III Assault

Mission Transcript: [Available]

Briefing:
Intelligence has received a rather strange signal that they have not yet been able to trace. It appears to come from a source with access to Steele's secure files.

The message informs us of a long-range sensor post on the moon M4R-312, also known as Kly IV on our charts. Our anonymous informant wishes us to know that this post has been used to keep a watch on Farpoint, and was established about a week after Steele's forces were pushed back out of the system.

While still hesitant that this may be a trap, Command has agreed that if there is a post it must be destroyed due to the system's close proximity to Farpoint.

In the event that it is a trap, Hunter and Ikara are standing by to jump in-system and provide us with any support we may need.

Kly IV is an airless moon covered in canyons and craters. For that reason we will be issued pressure suits for this mission. The stargate is located about 400m from the main atmosphere dome that contains the bulk of the facility. Two other atmosphere domes are located on either side of the path from the stargate to the dome. These are believed to hold the sensing equipment.

Our informant tells us that the facility is lightly guarded; relying on the fact that the moon contains no atmosphere and that anyone who steps though the stargate with out a pressure suit would be torn apart from explosive decompression.

Personnel:
Anton "Viper" Moore, Atomic Death, Ilexa Thorn, Jol Allson, Miles Fortis, Padme Fett

Injuries to Personnel/Equipment:
None

Report:
We made it through undetected and proceeded towards the first equipment dome, and Atomic and Miles were dispatched to rig it for demolition. While they were doing that, Jol spotted a zero-g storm trooper patrol. Once the dome was rigged, we all took cover, and Atomic waited until the troopers were right next to the explosives before detonating.

The explosive decompression apparently sparked off an alert in the main habitation dome. Atomic and Miles were sent to go blow a hole in that dome just to reduce the number of storm troopers that could get into vacuum suits. Thorn meanwhile proceeded to deactivate the defensive systems.

Atomic promptly blew a huge hole in the dome, sending himself flying backwards and prompting a slew of storm troopers in space trooper armour to come pouring out of the airlock.

While the rest of the team kept the storm troopers busy, I proceeded to infiltrate the dome and rig the power core for demolition. While I was extracting myself from the habitation dome, Thorn called in for Hunter and Ikara. Atomic and I became cut off from the stargate and had to call in for an assault shuttle from Hunter.

The rest of the team made it back to the stargate, where miles rigged the gate with Nergon-14 in an attempt to take out any pursuit.

Atomic, Thorn and I were picked up by an assault transport and made or orbit as the rest of the team was exiting the area via the gate.

The charge on the gate exploded just as Jol made it through, vaporizing a good portion of the moon's surface, and the entire observation facility.

Hunter did a bit of orbital bombardment and we then proceeded home.
